Bucs Men's and Women's Basketball to Open Season on Thursday

ST. THOMAS, U.S. Virgin Islands – The University of the Virgin Islands men's and women's basketball teams will open the 2022-23 season on Thursday in Florida.

The women's team led by head coach Niki Collins in her second season were 7-4 in a COVID shortened season last year.

The Buccaneers women's team opens the season on Thursday at St. Thomas before playing at Florida Memorial on Friday and at Ave Maria on Saturday. All three of those games will be played at 5:30.

The men's team under first year head coach Shannon Taylor will open at Florida Memorial at 5:30 on Thursday before playing at St. Thomas on Friday at 5:00.

The University of the Virgin Islands teams will then return home and prepare for the UVI HBCU Classic Nov. 3-5.
