Jordan Carter Wins GCAC Newcomer of the Week Award
Junior Guard Jordan Carter secures the University of the Virgin Islands(UVI) first regular season honor as she captured the GCAC Newcomer of the week award. This award is only available to freshmen and transfer students who are new to the conference. Carter was selected out of a pool of nominees as the winner of this award by the conference voting committee on Monday.
The reigning newcomer of the week scored a game-high 22 points against SUNO in a hotly contested conference matchup. She had two assists and four steals in the Lady Bucs only game this week.
The 5-foot-5 guard is a two-way player that leads her team offensively scoring 13 points per game on average while leading the conference in steals per game as well with 3.2.
