Bucs Compete at Embry-Riddle to Open Season

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – The University of the Virgin Islands men's and women's cross country teams opened the season at the Embry-Riddle Cross Country Classic.

On the women's side, Ariana Renault was the top UVI finisher as she placed 56th in 25:25.3 while Mia Davis (29:12.9) was 75th and Kashay Bass (32:39) placed 83rd to round out the Buccaneer runners.

Nasir Watson led the way for the men's team with a time of 39:56 to place 73rd while Jalil Langston was 76th in 41:02.9, Joel Contreras (44:15.5) finished 80th, Naythan Shaw-Clarke (44:29.8) was 82nd, Shirmoy O'Garro (47:03.2) was 86th and Cecil Hector took 89th (52:47.7) as the men's team placed 14th overall. 

The Bucs are back in action on Oct. 7th at the Sun Conference Preview at Ave Maria University.
