Bucs Cross Country Close Out Regular Season at SSC Preview Meet
Lakeland, Fla. – The University of the Virgin Islands men's and women's cross-country teams closed out the regular season at the SSC Preview meet hosted by Florida Southern College.
The Men's team was paced by Senior Shirmoy O'Garro with a season best effort placing 45th with a time of 29:27.82, followed by Joel Contreras(57th) and William Steger(60th) both posting Sub 30-minute times. Nasir Watson, Jalil Langston and Naythan Shaw-Clarke finished 135th, 136th and 140th respectively as the team finished 11th overall with a team score of 288.
In Women's action, Ariana Renault led the way on the women's side as UVI's top finisher placing 94th with a time of 30:05.74. Brea Patterson crossed the line shortly after at 34:39.05 for a 95th place overall finish.
The Buccaneers final meet of the season is at the Gulf Coast Athletic Conference Championship on Friday, October 20th in Decatur, Alabama.
