UVI Athletics Announces Basketball Schedule Change
ST. THOMAS, U.S. Virgin Islands, February 11, 2025 – The University of the Virgin Islands (UVI) Athletics Department announces an update to the men's and women's basketball schedules, which will impact the upcoming home game against Tougaloo College from Jackson, Mississippi, a member of the Historically Black College and Universities Athletic Conference (HBCUAC).
Originally, UVI was set to host Tougaloo on February 15 for an HBCUAC Doubleheader. However, due to a request from the visiting institution, the game has been postponed. A make-up date will be announced when it is determined.
As a result of this schedule adjustment, the Buccaneers' next game will now take place on Wednesday, February 19, where they will face off against the Wiley University Wildcats at the Elridge Blake Sports and Fitness Center. The women's game will begin at 6 p.m., followed by the men's game at 8 p.m.
These final two games on each team's schedule will play a crucial role in determining the seeding for the upcoming HBCUAC Tournament, scheduled to take place from February 25 to March 2 at the Birthright Alumni Hall on the Campus of Stillman College in Tuscaloosa, Alabama.
