ST. THOMAS, U.S. Virgin Islands – Jalil Langston had a game-high 21 points in the Bucs 77-59 loss to Southern University at New Orleans on the opening night of the UVI HBCU Classic.
Joel Contreras and Naythan Shaw-Clarke each added 10 points for the Bucs, who drop to 0-3.
Denny Gonzalez had a game-high 10 rebounds to lead UVI.
UVI shot 39.6 percent (21 of 53) while making 5 of 16 from 3-point range (31.3 percent).
SUNO led 44-28 at the break.
The Bucs are back in action at home on Friday at 8:00 against Warner in the UVI HBCU Classic.
