
Bucs to Close Out Semester With Three Game Road Trip
The University of the Virgin Island men's basketball team will hit the road for three games to close out the first semester.
The Bucs will open the three-game swing on Friday night at Southern University at New Orleans with a 7:00 CST tip. SUNO beat UVI 77-59 at the UVI HBCU Classic on Nov. 3rd this season.
UVI will travel to Spring Hill College in Mobile, Ala for the second game on Monday at 7:30 EST before closing out the trip at Thomas University in Thomasville, Ga. with tip set for 2:00 EST.
The Bucs have a trio of players that are scoring in double figures led by Naythan Shaw-Clarke's 20.9 points per game. Jalil Langston (18.9) and Eliyah Stevens (12.0) are also in double figures for UVI. Shaw-Clarke leads the Bucs with 3.6 assists per game.
Stevens leads the team with 8.3 rebounds per game on the season while Denny Gonzalez is second with 6.5 rebounds per game.
Shaw-Clarke has scored in double figures in eight of the nine games this season and he has scored 20 or more points in six games including four of the last five.
Stevens has posted double figures in seven of the nine games including five straight entering the road trip. He has posted three double-doubles this season, all of them in the last five games.
