
Bucs Embark on Five Game Road Trip to Close Out Season
The University of the Virgin Island men's basketball team will close out the 2022-2023 season with a five game road trip beginning Saturday afternoon at Morris College at 2 p.m. EST.
The Bucs will then travel to Voorhees University on Monday for an 8 p.m. EST tip before closing out the season with three games at the Skinner Classic at the University of Fort Lauderdale with games on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.
UVI will take on Florida Palms at 4 p.m. on Wednesday, host Fort Lauderdale on Thursday at 8 p.m. and close out the season on Thursday at 4 p.m. against Florida National.
Naythan Shaw-Clarke has had an outstanding season as he leads the Bucs with 21.5 points per a game. He has scored 20 or more points in nine games this season and is averaging six rebounds and 3.3 assists per game. He has registered double-doubles in each of the last two games, his first two of the season.
Jalil Langston is second on the team with 17.9 points per game. He has scored in double figures in every game and has 20 or more points in five games this season.
Joel Contreras, who is averaging 9.5 points per game, leads the team with 15 three-pointers this season. He has scored in double figures five times and is averaging 18.3 points per game over the last four games.
