
UVI Opens Second Semester Play Tonight at Fort Lauderdale
The University of the Virgin Island men's basketball team will begin second semester play tonight at the University of Fort Lauderdale as the Bucs and Eagles will play back-to-back games on Monday and Tuesday night at 8:00 p.m. (AST) and 7:00 p.m. in Florida.
The Bucs are 1-12 on the season and have not played since an 89-47 loss at Thomas on Dec. 14th.
Naythan Shaw-Clarke leads UVI with 21.2 points and 3.8 assists per game to go with his 5.2 rebounds per game while Jalil Langston (18.3 ppg.) is also in double figures for the Bucs. UVI will be without Eliyah Stevens (12.0 ppg.), who is injured and will miss the remainder of the season.
The Bucs are scoring 63.3 points per game and allowing 86.7 points per game.
UVI will look to snap a two-game slide against Fort Lauderdale which is 11-12 on the season after a 74-69 win over College of Coastal Georgia on Saturday.
The Eagles are led by Benez Woodward's 12.4 points per game while Kemari Brown (12.3 ppg.) and Trevon White (10.9 ppg.) are also in double figures for Fort Lauderdale.
